The Town of Sellersburg convened a short regular meeting that covered routine administrative matters and received an operations update from the town manager.
Charlie Smith, identified during the meeting as the town manager, told the board he had secured sponsorship to cover the town’s Fourth of July fireworks. "So that will be 100% covered by sponsor," Smith said, adding that he would "get with the legion to confirm everything" and inform the board on event timing.
The board conducted roll call and approved the meeting agenda, allowance claims and the previous meeting’s minutes by unanimous voice votes, each motion recorded by the chair as passing 4-0. The minutes were noted as signed by the four members present.
The chair reported that the pool manager was not present. The chair and Rebecca Carlton, who served on a subcommittee, said they had met with Kentucky and Pool Management to review a proposal. They plan a follow-up meeting to ask further questions about pricing and services.
No members of the public attended the meeting. With no new business, the board moved to adjourn; the motion was seconded and recorded as passing 4-0.
Votes at a glance: agenda approval — passed (4-0); allowance claims approval — passed (4-0); minutes approval — passed (4-0); motion to adjourn — passed (4-0).
Next steps: Smith will confirm fireworks logistics with the American Legion and report back; the subcommittee will reconvene with Pool Management on pricing and proposal details.
