Because LTAC has a $3,000,000 construction cap, the county would be responsible for an estimated $631,500 in construction costs above the cap. Staff said the project requires a local match calculated at 7.34% of the total project (the resolution text cited $313,271.20 as the match) and placed the county’s total estimated contribution at roughly $944,780.20, subject to final design, bid results and LTAC action.
The resolution formally authorizes the chair to execute and submit the LTAC application and related documents, with any county match commitment conditioned on lawfully available and appropriated funds. Commissioners discussed options to offset the local share, including using developer impact fees and staging the project over multiple budgets; commissioners noted some of the road work may align with private development that could help fund specific segments.
Commissioners moved and seconded the resolution after a reading of the document; a roll-call vote recorded unanimous assent.
