Jefferson County certifies levies and approves nearly $2.0 million in claims

Roger (county presenter) told the board he had verified levy numbers and that Ben at the state had reviewed the updated L‑2s without raising questions. Commissioner Clark asked whether the correct assessed values were used; staff confirmed new L‑2 submissions were in place.
The board then considered claims for the county covering the period Sept. 20, 2025, through Oct. 14, 2025. Deputy clerk Cora and staff provided two reports — one reflecting remaining balances for fiscal year 2025 and one showing entries for 2026 — and explained reporting limitations when entries cross fiscal years. Commissioners said they were satisfied staff had checked invoice numbers and that any items dated in 2025 but entered as 2026 would be separated by a warrants report if needed.
A motion to approve the claims for 09/20/2025–10/14/2025 for a total of $1,999,631.88 was moved and seconded and passed on roll call.
On the consent agenda the board approved certificates of residency for students attending the College of Southern Idaho, the College of Western Idaho and the College of Eastern Idaho for the 2025–26 academic year; roll call recorded affirmative votes.
The meeting adjourned after the scheduled items were completed.
