A committee report read on the floor recommended the resolution filed by Representative Gordon of Bedford; Representative Stanley of Waltham moved to suspend the rules and, following a voice vote, "the resolution is adopted," the clerk announced.

The chair introduced Derek Galvin and Principal Steven Morganrecht of Leroy Wood Elementary School, identified in remarks as a National Blue Ribbon School. Guests introduced later included Lori Durr, superintendent, and Rose Moran, principal, of East Falmouth Elementary School, recognized for strong assessment and accountability results.
