District staff asked the board to approve comprehensive school safety plans for all five high schools, noting the plans are reviewed annually, include local law enforcement input and must be board‑approved by March 1.
Miss Besuino said the plans had been reviewed in closed session and included internal components; she asked the board for approval to post the public versions once finalized. Trustees discussed whether the item should be an action item after it had been presented for discussion. The board amended the agenda to move the school safety plans to action and subsequently approved the plans by voice vote.
Miss Besuino stated the plans align with San Mateo County Office of Education emergency response protocols and that the public versions will be posted to the district website after board approval.
