The Department of Human Services informed the committee that after receiving more than 100 public comments on proposed rate changes it has compiled responses and forwarded a recommendation to the governor to continue the current reimbursement rate while the executive branch completes its review.
"We have compiled those and have answered those, and they're on our public website. We have sent a recommendation to the governor's office to continue holding the current rate," the DHS secretary (identified in the transcript as "Jane at Mayan, DHS secretary") told the committee.
DHS Director Jay Hill also attended and the secretary said the executive review timeline typically ranges from 30 to 60 days depending on follow‑up questions. The department characterized the submission as complete and noted the review process is the remaining step before any rate change would be finalized.
Committee members asked for clarification about whether the reporting requirement that drove the update originated in the subcommittee or was moved from another legislative committee; DHS said it would check the legislative record and follow up.
