Senator Stevenson told the committee SB 132 modifies last year’s spaceport exploratory statute to permit closed sessions for confidential industry information, expand the committee’s scope to include reentry operations, and extend the deadline for a final recommendation to November 30. The sponsor said an Aerospace Corporation feasibility study found Utah can safely support launches and the committee has been working with private industry to identify viable sites.
