Committee approves cannabinoid amendments, removes register video requirement and adds disposal rules

The bill also adds provisions for safe disposal of waste, with emphasis on separating integrated batteries from vape devices before disposal to avoid chemical and fire hazards. Forsyth explained that integrated batteries pose the greatest risk and should be physically removed and disposed of per local hazardous-waste rules.
Committee members asked clarifying questions about how separation would be achieved; Forsyth said the practical step is to remove the battery from integrated devices and dispose of batteries per local requirements. The committee adopted and moved HB 4 69 (first substitute) out favorably without recorded opposition.
