The Rutherford County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution on Sept. 12 honoring Stewarts Creek High School’s Fine Arts Academy after remarks by Commissioner Phil Wilson.
Wilson outlined the academy’s accomplishments, including a student earning a national gold medal from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, invitations to perform at state conferences, All-State theater recognitions and selection as the Tennessee Arts Academy’s first Arts Rich High School of the Year. The resolution notes the academy’s conservatory-style program and lists faculty contributors.
Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the resolution by acclamation and invited educators and students to the front of the chamber for recognition.
