Rutherford County commissioners adopt resolution honoring former Commissioner Joe Frank Jernigan

The resolution notes Jernigan retired as assistant road superintendent, served 22 years as the District 6 county commissioner and participated on numerous local boards including planning, budget and public works. Beverly recited family survivors and affiliations as the resolution was read into the record and then moved its adoption; the chair put the motion and the board approved it by voice vote (motion moved and seconded; motion passed) (SEG 026–074).
A copy of the resolution will be forwarded to Jernigan’s family by the clerk of the legislative body, the resolution states (SEG 062–064). The board took the action as part of its ceremonial and consent business and did not debate the text further before adopting it (SEG 065–074).
