County commissions recognizes Stewarts Creek High School band for presidential inaugural performance

The Rutherford County Commission on March 13 passed a resolution recognizing Stewarts Creek High School’s band program for selection to perform at the sixtieth presidential inaugural parade and for multiple awards and achievements.
Commissioner Joshua James introduced the resolution and commended the students, directors and school administration. Clark Harrell, principal of Stewarts Creek High School, thanked the commission and the community for financial and logistical support and said the experience created lasting memories for the students. Band directors Debbie Burton and Michael Chester described the logistical challenges — including a last‑minute move to an indoor performance and adapting formations — and praised students’ resilience and performance quality. Student leaders Isabel Martinez and others offered brief remarks about the pride and significance of the opportunity.
The commission adopted the resolution by voice vote and invited the band representatives to be recognized.
