Commissioners approve 25-year lease with TVTAP for Buxton maintenance facility

The Teton County Board of County Commissioners voted to approve a 25-year lease agreement that will allow TVTAP and the grooming district to occupy a county-owned storage and maintenance facility at 70 West Buxton Avenue in exchange for TVTAP funding site development.
Daryl Johnson, public works director, said county and TVTAP legal counsel had reviewed the lease language and staff felt the agreement was ready for approval. A commissioner moved to approve the 25-year lease "between Teton County, TVTAP, and the grooming district for the use of the storage and maintenance facility currently under construction at 70 West Buxton Avenue as presented," and the board approved the motion by voice vote.
Commissioners said they expect staff to monitor implementation and ensure the county retains ownership of the building and property while TVTAP manages operations under the long-term lease. The board did not authorize additional county funding for the site; TVTAP will provide construction dollars in exchange for the long-term occupancy arrangement.
