Van Cortlandt and Bronx parks say staff, vehicles and equipment lag as funding goals go unmet

Christina Taylor, deputy director of the Van Cortlandt Park Alliance, told Bronx Talk that Van Cortlandt Park and other borough green spaces are straining under reduced staffing and aging equipment. "The main thing we see in the park is definitely we have a decrease in staff and ... there's, you know, less equipment," Taylor said. "A lot of times we only have 1 garbage truck for the park. And if that garbage truck breaks down, we have nothing to pick up the garbage."
