The extension was discussed and agreed to by the hearing authority with a condition that staff return with updated photographs and the matter be placed on the next hearing agenda. "We'll give them this grace period, but then I think we really have to take some kind of action," the hearing officer said, describing the authority's intent to follow up if there is no progress.
Staff and members set the next hearing for Wednesday, April 15, at 10:00 a.m. in the county's old courtroom; because 60 days calculated to April 11 (a Saturday), the body selected the following Wednesday for availability. Member comments indicated that the hearing order to be issued would state only that a 60-day extension was granted and list the new hearing date; staff will reissue notices based on that order.
