The Troy Planning Commission voted Feb. 11 to recommend that the City Council accept a 0.471-acre dedication of Lot 10898 at 1375 South Union Street as right-of-way, a step staff said is required for a pending lot split.
Staff told the commission the request stems from a lot-split application to divide 1375 South Union Street into two parcels and that the split is treated as a minor subdivision under city rules. "So again, this is for the dedication right of way," a staff member told the commission, adding the replat was reviewed by the city engineer and that staff was "requesting that planning commission make a positive recommendation to city council to dedicate the 0.471 acres of current in Lot 10898 as right of way." The report noted the minor-subdivision replat requires city-engineer review but the right-of-way dedication needs a planning commission recommendation before council action.
Chair moved for an affirmative recommendation to city council; the motion was seconded and passed on roll call. Commissioners recorded "Yes" votes from Mr. Wolke; Mrs. Ehrlich; Mr. Titterington; the Mayor; and Mr. McGarry. The commission did not record any opposing votes on the motion.
The commission's recommendation will go to the City Council for final action. Staff advised the dedication is tied directly to the applicant's lot-split process and that council approval is required to finalize the right-of-way status.
