The Page County Board of Supervisors appointed a 90-day steering committee to study short-term rental issues and return recommendations to the board.
Miss Mueller and other staff said the proposed subcommittee would include a representative from economic development, someone from the planning commission, a board representative, a tourism council member, and a zoning employee; staff suggested also naming an EDA alternate in case of conflicts. Staff said they had contacted recommended individuals, and those people indicated willingness to serve.
Mr. Covey (staff or board member, as presented) provided a list of names the board had discussed; Mr. Covey offered to serve as an initial chair to convene meetings. A motion to appoint the listed members was moved and seconded. The board recorded votes with named 'yes' votes from Mr. Lauderback, Mr. Covey, Kyle, Mr. Vaughn and Mr. Ruby; the motion carried.
Staff said the subcommittee will operate on a rapid timetable to outline goals and bring recommendations back to the board for possible next steps.
