Page County officials announced that the county received the Government Finance Officers Association’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.
Miss Mueller read the GFOA press release, saying the award “represents a significant achievement by the county” and reflects staff and the governing body’s commitment to meeting nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. The release credited Finance Director Tyler Olson for the work. County staff said the certificate will be delivered after the meeting.
The award requires proficiency across four categories and 14 mandatory criteria intended to assess whether a budget functions as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and communications device. County officials praised Olson and staff for meeting those criteria.
The announcement was procedural and informational; there was no board action attached to the award at the meeting.
