Staff noted the Planning Commission introduced the application on July 8, 2025, held a public hearing on Aug. 12 with no speakers, and recommended approval 6–0.
Supervisor (speaker 7), who moved approval, said the site “is in a secondary growth tier” and “is a good example of what we want to see,” citing location and lack of objections from adjacent property owners. The motion was seconded and approved by the board during a roll‑call affirmation.
The action changes the parcel’s zoning to C‑1, enabling commercial uses permitted under the cited ordinance. No formal conditions or additional restrictions were announced at the meeting. The rezoning clears the way for the applicant to pursue county permitting for the commercial uses allowed in the C‑1 district.
