The Mount Pleasant City Council approved multiple requisitions for municipal equipment and services during the meeting. Council moved to approve requisition 022601 to Action Transmission for $8,434.29 to install a new transmission in a 2013 Ford F-250. Council also approved requisition 202602 to Stultz Equipment for $16,171.33 to purchase a lift-type rotary mower attachment; the motion to approve the mower requisition recorded at least one dissenting vote (Lynn) with a majority supporting the purchase.
Council additionally moved a pre-requisition 202603 to Verizon Wireless for tablets (total reported $3,599) for field work and mapping. Requisition 202604 to Sunrise Engineering for $7,000 for sidewalk GIS services was moved and passed to postpone until staff can provide a Sunrise demonstration and further clarification on the sidewalk policy.
Council members raised budget questions about repair/maintenance line items and whether purchases fit current budget allocations. Staff said budget lines exist for the mower purchase but noted the city is over budget on some maintenance lines and will monitor expenditures going forward.
