The Town Council approved a building-permit package for 4822 Cumberland (applicants Yael Friedkin and Matt Kovner) at its May 5 meeting. The application covers a two-story rear addition, a new gate in an existing fence, an HVAC upgrade, a dumpster for construction and the removal of several trees.
Staff described stormwater constraints and recommended a combination of structural practices (dry wells and other mitigation) because soils on the lot limit some site-design approaches. The applicant amended the proposal at the meeting to remove a new parking-pad feature originally included in the plan; staff and the engineer confirmed that the revised scope still meets the town’s stormwater-mitigation expectations.
The council approved the permit with conditions related to tree protection and a reduced bond amount (per staff and arborist recommendations) to ensure replacement plantings where removals were necessary. Work is expected to begin after required submittals and any needed inspections are completed.
