Michigan City BZA elects officers, corrects minutes and notes rules update

At its Feb. 10 meeting the Michigan City Board of Zoning Appeals elected Ricky Jackson as chair, Fred Clinder as vice chair and Dr. Edwards as secretary, approved corrected minutes for Dec. 9, 2025, and scheduled a rules-and-procedures update for March.
The Michigan City Board of Zoning Appeals conducted routine business Feb. 10, electing officers, approving corrected minutes, and scheduling a BZA rules-and-procedures update.
Members nominated and voted to retain Ricky Jackson as chair for 2026; Fred Clinder was elected vice chair and Doctor Edwards accepted election as the board’s secretary. The board conducted roll-call votes for each position and recorded approval.
Member Hale pointed out a typographical error in the draft minutes (the previous meeting date was listed as Dec. 8, 2025, but the meeting occurred Dec. 9, 2025). The board moved and unanimously approved the corrected minutes.
Attorney Hale and planning staff said a rules-and-procedures update remains scheduled for March and encouraged members to submit suggestions before that meeting.
