DPW staff described the draft as an operational framework intended to reduce what they described as a longstanding sidewalk backlog. Tyler, director of streets and transportation, told the committee that the town maintains about 125 miles of sidewalk and that roughly 40 miles have been identified as needing rehabilitation.
