Senate passes SB64 and SB52 from consent calendar; several senators recorded no votes

On Feb. 11 the Colorado Senate passed SB64 and SB52 from the consent calendar; SB64 passed 30–2 and SB52 passed 29–3 with named senators recorded as no votes.
The Colorado Senate on Feb. 11 approved two bills on the consent calendar: Senate Bill 64, concerning the Colorado Agricultural Future Loan Program, and Senate Bill 52, related to coal transition communities and hiring preferences for coal transition workers.
Majority Leader Rodriguez moved for passage of the consent calendar. Several senators asked to be recorded as having voted no. Senator Zamora Wilson requested a “no” on SB64 and SB52, stating she wished to be recorded as opposed to those measures. Senator Carson likewise requested to be recorded as a no on SB64 and SB52. Senator Bazely requested to be recorded as a no on SB52.
The clerk recorded passage tallies for the two bills. Senate Bill 64 passed with 30 ayes and 2 no votes (0 absent, 3 excused). Senators Zamora Wilson and Carson were recorded as no votes. Senate Bill 52 passed with 29 ayes and 3 no votes (0 absent, 3 excused); Senator Bazely was recorded as a no vote on SB52.
Both bills were carried on the consent calendar with cosponsors noted for each measure and were ordered engrossed.
