Jessica Windsor, who spoke on behalf of the applicant, told the board that the prior licensee, Mia Eliano, died in a car accident and that Gennaro Ileano — who holds a minority 10% share — will assume the license and financial responsibility. "Gennaro has additional locations," Windsor said, and the board heard that he is alcohol‑awareness certified and has experience managing licensed establishments.
Board members questioned financial responsibility and prior violations; witnesses and several commissioners said the applicant appeared fit and proper. After testimony and character witnesses were presented, a motion to approve the transfer was made and the board signified approval with aye votes.
The board indicated condolences for the family loss and noted that other related license matters (Mount Airy Inn and Twin Arch Tavern) will be heard in coming months.
