Board members had raised concerns that the application contained contradictory language — one sentence said "all site sales will benefit" the nonprofit Hotshots, while another said only "a portion of proceeds will be donated." Staff subsequently contacted Coppermine and reported a 20% donation to Hotshots for this year.
Commissioners also discussed vendor participation and whether vendors such as Dutch Corner would sell under Hotshots' one‑day license or need to provide separate notifications; staff explained that vendors can sell alcohol under the nonprofit's one‑day license if the nonprofit authorizes them, and that some vendors must submit a 10‑day notice to the board. Health‑department review was again noted as necessary when refrigerated mixed drinks are offered.
The board approved the applications and asked staff to obtain and file a written confirmation of the proceeds arrangement and any vendor agreements for the record.
The approvals were conditional on standard event permitting and any required health or building approvals.
