Board approves two agenda changes and adjourns to executive session

The St. Joseph School District Board of Education voted to amend its meeting agenda at the start of tonight’s session, approving two changes and later adjourning to executive session.

Early in the meeting a board member asked to add discussion of a draft staff policy on employees choosing their children’s schools and to include the long‑range/facilities reorganization as a standing agenda item. After debate the board approved the motion, with roll‑call votes recorded as: Miss Kearns yes; Miss Miller no; Miss Williams yes; Miss Chesney no; Miss Lanning yes; Mister Moore yes; Mister Richmond yes. The chair announced the motion passed 5–2.

The board also amended item C6 to change the label from “salary schedules” to “salary and benefits committee update” so the committee could present an insurance package later this month. That amendment was moved and seconded and passed on voice and roll call with all members voting in the affirmative.

Near the meeting’s end, a motion to adjourn to executive session "pursuant to 6 10 0 21, closed meetings, closed records for legal hiring, firing, discipline, or promoting a particular employees and individually identifiable personnel records" was made, seconded and approved by roll call. The chair declared the board adjourned to executive session.
