The board approved the evening agenda (motion by Mr. Irving, second by Ms. Kinsella) and later adopted the consent agenda covering items 9.01 through 9.13 (motion by Ms. Kinsella, second by Ms. Atkins); both votes were taken by voice and recorded in the meeting as "The ayes have it." The meeting opened with a pledge led by students introduced by Tamika Campbell and featured a choral performance by Godwin High School under director Jacob Saunders Duvall. The board also recognized Holman Middle School's esports program and student Vijan Kolipara for regional competitive success. Superintendent Dr. Caswell presented division highlights, including Short Pump Middle School's Innovation Night and Highland Springs High School's community "100 Man Challenge."
During public forum, speakers raised concerns about performance-space maintenance and questioned the board's redistricting decision earlier that day. Board members did not respond during the public forum; the chair said staff would follow up with speakers after the meeting.
The board announced its next meeting will be Jan. 8, 2026 at 3 p.m. (work session) in the New Bridge Learning Center auditorium and adjourned.
