IPRTF to prioritize presentations on jail and behavioral‑health build‑out as key decisions approach

The IPRTF Steering Committee agreed to prioritize presentations on jail and behavioral‑health facility build‑out scenarios so the full task force can consider difficult policy and design decisions before an accelerated April timeline.
Peter said two workgroups (FAB and JAW) have reviewed ‘‘sobering’’ documents about proposed jail and behavioral health center plans and recommended a presentation to the full IPRTF to allow robust discussion of scenarios and tradeoffs. ‘‘Our timeline has been pushed up, to April to make some significant decisions,’’ he said.
Members noted that some meeting materials were newly public in county email accounts and that the February FAB meeting link was difficult to find on the public calendar; members arranged to circulate a direct link and accompanying memo after the FAB meeting so IPRTF members can review materials in advance.
Bertie and others said bringing the presentations to the full committee is ‘‘the meat’’ of the IPRTF’s work and urged the chair to put the item front and center at the next meeting so members can examine scenarios, financial implications and design options before decisions are required.
Staff and members agreed to schedule the presenters who briefed JAW and FAB at the next full meeting and to circulate materials as soon as they become public.
