The council approved appointments of Ryan Dowd, Taylor Sweeting and Barbie Davidsmeier to the Commission on Disabilities and Human Relations with terms expiring Oct. 30, 2028. The body also considered and gave advice and consent to a resolution confirming the appointment of Jeffrey L. Salterman (transcript contains variant spellings) as city attorney, effective Feb. 15, 2026.
Under the consent agenda the council approved a tax increment financing (TIF) redevelopment plan and project grant agreement between the city and Hamilton Properties LLC.
Public protection presented a first reading of an ordinance regulating low‑speed electric bicycles; the council thanked staff and the police chief for their work on the draft and recorded a motion-carrying result on the ordinance’s introduction/read-through.
Separately, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s committee requested and received permission to use Community Park on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a 2026 fundraising walk.
