Carbon County commissioners approve training contract, donations and appointments; ratify industrial-park land purchase and enter closed session

Carbon County commissioners approved a series of routine agreements, donations and appointments and ratified a small land purchase on a motion Tuesday, then voted to enter a closed session to discuss ongoing litigation.

Commissioners approved an agreement with Blueprint Creation LLC to provide customer-service and leadership training in March. Tina Grange, who identified herself during the meeting as the county’s tourism contact, summarized last year’s program: Custom Fit at USU Eastern covered half the cost of a two-day session that had 67 registrants and the county’s share came in below the $8,000 budget (actual cost about $7,200). Grange said Brad Anderson of Blueprint Creation will reduce travel costs by coordinating trainings in nearby counties. “We did 2 days of training, 2 sessions a day, opened it up to 80 people within our community,” she said.
