Pittsylvania board recognizes Career and Technical Education Month and student achievements

Miss Brooks (presentation) highlighted hands-on learning and career pathways, noting that CTE connects classroom learning to industry standards and "empowers learners with certifications, internships, and the confidence to enter today's workforce or to continue their education." She listed examples including a culinary competition, a 93% pass rate on a ServSafe manager exam in one class at PCTC and regional DECA competition winners who will advance to the state leadership conference.
The board also recognized student representatives from the division and presented a character word for February ('self control') introduced by Ann Stallworth.
The recognition was ceremonial and did not require board action; members thanked presenters and praised CTE offerings and student accomplishments.
