The Pulaski County Fiscal Court approved a series of routine administrative items, authorized an emergency power service payment and voted to inspect a used bucket truck before deciding on purchase.
The court first approved the minutes for Jan. 28 and a correction to minutes that had the wrong year. The presiding official introduced an off-agenda request to pursue a used bucket truck located in Georgia with about 61,000 miles and an asking price of $40,199; the official said insurance proceeds of about $17,000 from a previous damaged truck plus surplus items would offset most of the cost and stated surplus funds would cover the purchase. A motion was approved to send staff to inspect the vehicle with the stipulation that it must check out.
During department reports, Stacy presented a Kentucky Emergency Power Service agreement that covers annual maintenance for generators and related sites, noting the contract amount is $17,800 and that the price did not change from last year; the court approved payment. The road department’s list was approved by voice vote and officials announced the county compost site is open free to private individuals through the end of the month (contractors must pay). Officials thanked first responders for storm cleanup and said the county used an unusually large amount of salt — nearly 1,000 tons over two weeks.
The treasurer asked for approval of the February bill list, which the court approved. The court then voted to go into executive session for personnel and property under the statutory subsection recited in the meeting; members later returned and the presiding official stated, “No action was taken back there.” The session concluded with an adjournment motion that passed by voice vote.
Where vote tallies were requested at the meeting, the transcript records voice votes only; no roll-call counts or individual recorded tallies appear in the meeting transcript.
