Gilroy Library Commission approves 2026 schedule, reaffirms leadership in unanimous votes

The Gilroy Library Commission voted unanimously on several housekeeping items at its Feb. 11 meeting, approving past minutes, the meeting agenda and the commission’s proposed 2026 meeting schedule.
Commissioners approved the minutes from the June 18 meeting after a motion and second, then approved the current meeting agenda by voice vote. Later in the meeting, staff recommended a four‑meeting calendar for 2026; the commission approved the schedule as presented in the packet by a 5‑0 voice vote.
At year‑start organizational business the commission conducted nominations for leadership. Chair Baxter accepted a nomination to remain chair for 2026 and the commission approved that selection. Commissioners then nominated and selected Commissioner Guffey to serve as vice chair for 2026; that selection also passed by voice vote.
No amendments or recorded dissents were made on the floor during the motions. The commission adjourned at 8:51 p.m.
