Housing services reports 27 replacement homes assigned in Cherry Tree; modular units, Energy Star silver rating and shelter progress announced

Todd Enloe, Housing Services, told the Cherokee Nation Community Services Committee he has assigned the first 27 inspected homes in the Cherry Tree community and that work has begun on 4–5 of those units; one unit is about 50% complete.
"We have assigned the first 27 homes that have undergone inspection. Of those 27, work has already started on 4 or 5 of those. One of them has already reached 50%," Enloe said. He said dumpsters are placed in the community for a cleanup and that additional projects will be announced soon.
Enloe described progress at multiple other sites: Keyes (trusses to be installed imminently), South Coffeyville (surveys complete), Lost City (awaiting survey), and the Jay Football Field (demolition and final inspection complete). He said Autumn Woods Phase 1 (District 2) has 14 houses with utilities being set and Phase 2 has 7 lots under site work.
On building methods, Enloe said some planned homes are modular (components shipped and assembled on stem walls, with appliances and HVAC included) and that the department will add ramps, porches and finishes on site. He also said the housing authority received a first‑ever Energy Star silver certification for J Housing Ganohili; the agency expects a rebate check soon.
Enloe said about 110 new‑construction packets were mailed to households and roughly 20 completed responses had been returned; he urged residents on wait lists to return their forms. He also reported that through some funding labeled 'POV' the department had designated 27 replacement homes to be delivered to households on rehab and emergency lists.
On homelessness services, Enloe said the Scribe Shelter (near the old Phoenix Park in Tahlequah) is framed and that roofing should start either this week or before Christmas to make the building weather‑tight. Committee members asked to see design samples, and Enloe offered to meet after the session to show color palettes and unit layouts.
