Cary board approves consent agenda; staff preview capital improvements plan and tree recycling program announced

The Village of Cary board approved the consent agenda (items A through C as posted on the village website) by unanimous roll call during its January 2026 meeting. The board’s roll-call vote recorded trustees Stefani, Collier, Dudek, Christina and McCallpine voting yes; the motion passed.
Assistant Village Administrator (speaker 2) told the board staff have been working on a capital improvements plan (CIP) that will be presented to the village board the following week and invited feedback. The assistant administrator also noted a ceremony held the prior Friday honoring Chief Finland’s 42 years in law enforcement.
Director Noonan reminded residents that Flood Brothers is conducting a tree recycling program through January on regular pickup days and said trees should be free of lights, garland and decorations. Other routine updates were brief: Deputy Chief Nathan said there was nothing to report from the police department, Katie Ward said she had nothing that evening, and Director Simmons had no items recorded in the minutes.
A motion to adjourn was moved and seconded, and the meeting adjourned at 6:17 p.m.
