Liberty Hill Education Foundation reports record teacher grants and $187,985 given to district

Bowles said the foundation—which began in 2019 and operates as a nonprofit with a memorandum of understanding with Liberty Hill ISD—awarded 16 scholarships at $2,500 each (a total of $40,000) to graduating seniors and a record 56 teacher grants this year out of 63 applications, with at least one awarded per campus. He told the board the foundation returned a total of $187,985 to the district in the prior year.
Bowles highlighted outreach and donor engagement efforts, including a partnership with the Chamber of Commerce that contributed $11,000 to foundation programming and distributed about $3,000 back to local PTOs. The foundation also runs grant patrol visits to surprise teachers with awards and funds programs such as Grow Your Own (paraprofessional certification support) and Panther Academy scholarships.
"We were able to give back to the district a $187,985," Bowles said, and praised board members and volunteers for participation in school visits and events.
Board members thanked foundation leaders and noted the value of direct classroom support and staff recognition. No board action was required; the presentation was informational.
