Mr. Grant presented the item and said the land would support Santee Cooper’s basic business purpose to provide electricity to businesses and residents within its service territory or to cooperative service territories. The administration recommended the board provide the letter of support.
Commissioner Weston moved approval and Commissioner Clyburn seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The administration did not present a detailed purchase contract at the meeting and described the board action as a letter of support rather than a financial commitment.
