Board approves Delta T Group Detroit Inc. contract to provide in‑person learning‑support staff

The Flint Board of Education voted to authorize a staffing services agreement with Delta T Group Detroit Inc. aimed at filling hard‑to‑staff learning support service (LSS) positions with in‑person personnel. The superintendent and the district’s director of learning support services presented the vendor and said a goal is to transition away from virtual staffing and increase in‑person supports for students.

Trustees asked whether the vendor would recruit from within the county and how variable pricing and grant vs. general‑fund charges would be handled. The director said the vendor has available personnel and that the district will continue to follow its interview and hiring policies while seeking to prefer local hires where feasible. The contract is intended to address immediate staffing shortages in LSS roles while the district continues recruitment. The board and staff said internal hiring and vendor oversight would continue to follow district policy and that this contract does not replace district hiring processes for permanent positions.
