Calaveras Board elects leadership for 2026, issues two proclamations

The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors opened its Jan. 13 meeting by electing officers for 2026 and adopting several recognitions.
Early in the meeting the board voted to rearrange board leadership for 2026, adopting a motion to make the current vice chair the chair and to appoint Amanda Follendorf as vice chair; the motion carried unanimously (5‑0).
The board adopted a proclamation recognizing Calaveras High School on its Dec. 13, 2025 state football championship and heard brief remarks from head coach Manny Mosa thanking the board and community; the proclamation passed by unanimous vote.
Separately, the board adopted a proclamation honoring Lieutenant Greg Stark on his retirement after 31 years of service to the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office. Numerous supervisors, department staff and community members offered praise and personal remarks; the board approved the proclamation 5‑0.
These items were adopted as proclamations and recognitions; no ordinances or policy changes were made in the proclamations.
