Daniel council approves licenses, planning appointments and warrants; staff delivers open-meetings training

At its Feb. 2 meeting, the Daniel Town Council handled a slate of routine but required items, including a business-license renewal, planning-commission appointments, warrant approvals and mandatory annual training.
The council approved a renewal for TJ's custom mock cuts (2730 South Daniel Road) for dog boarding and grooming; the motion passed with recorded yes votes. The council also approved municipal Resolution DR2026-02-02 appointing four planning-commission members to terms running Jan. 2026'Jan. 2030; named appointees included Byron Horner, TJ McGinn (recorded in packet as McGhegan), Tim Jones and Scott Long. The resolution cited DMC Title 2, Section 201.03.
The recorder presented two additional Wasatch County invoices (snowplowing for December and January and a sign-straightening invoice) and the council moved to add those to the Feb. warrant sheet; the warrants were approved. The council also approved the Jan. 5, 2026 meeting minutes.
Megan (recorder) delivered required annual training on open-meeting rules: public notice requirements (24 hours), agenda content, posting recorded open portions to the Utah Public Notice website within three business days, draft minutes within 30 days, restrictions on closed meetings and the need to post approved minutes and public materials after approval.
