External auditors presented the 2024-25 Azusa Unified School District and Measure K audit results at the Feb. 10 board meeting and reported an unmodified (clean) opinion on financial statements.
The auditor, Garima, told trustees the financial-statement audit was unmodified, meaning a clean opinion, and that no material weaknesses or significant deficiencies in internal control were identified. She also reported an unmodified opinion on major federal-award program compliance and no findings for state program compliance.
Garima told the board the results demonstrate that financial statements "are presented fairly in all material respects" and that internal processes and controls are operating effectively. Trustees thanked the audit team and district staff for collaboration; the board moved to accept the audit reports and the motion passed 5-0.
The acceptance was procedural; trustees did not request new audit findings or additional follow-up beyond standard review. The district will file and publish the audit reports per statutory timelines.
