The council unanimously approved Ordinance 26-003 and the associated preliminary plat to allow construction of an elementary school addition on roughly 15.55 acres south of Harmony Way.
Roderick, the city planner, presented the site plan showing parent drop-off, bus circulation, detention areas and landscaped buffers. Staff confirmed property-owner notices were mailed to owners within 200 feet and said the city received one inquiry about screening; no formal opposition letters were reported.
Council closed the public hearing and approved the zoning and preliminary plat in the same action, 5–0. Staff noted the applicant will return later with final plat details and construction plans as required by city process.
