Red Oak council OKs PD amendment to allow data center expansion

The Red Oak City Council voted unanimously to approve Ordinance 26-002, amending PD 66 to PD 66R7 to include several additional parcels so a data-center complex may be developed at the northwest corner of East Willow Road and State Highway 342.
Roderick, the city planner, told the council the change adds parcels to an existing planned development so the applicant can expand the data-center area when they are ready. Victoria Morris of Jackson Walker spoke for the applicant and said she was available to answer questions. No speakers opposed the zoning change during the public hearing.
Mayor said the approval is conditionally tied to the purchaser closing on the property; staff confirmed property-owner notices were posted per statute. Councilmembers moved and seconded the motion and the ordinance passed on a 5–0 roll-call vote.
The ordinance was adopted with no recorded amendments; staff noted that the developer must return with development plans when construction is proposed. The council closed the public hearing and approved the zoning change, enabling the buyer to proceed with the planned purchase and future development plans.
