The Oak Park School Board reviewed two proposals from Partners in Architecture at its Oct. 27 meeting to design and oversee sinking-fund projects at Einstein and Pepper elementary schools.
Chief Operations Officer Tiffany presented the proposals, which would cover cafeteria and hallway flooring, ceilings, lighting and paint, and possible emergency-exit lighting upgrades. Each proposal was estimated at about $31,000 and would be paid from the sinking fund. If approved at a future meeting, the design phase will begin and the board will be asked in January to approve the full package for bidding with a construction goal of next summer.
Trustees asked about the vendor billing policy attachments and page numbering in the packet; Tiffany and administrators walked trustees through the PDF links and said billing policy and signature pages are accessible through the packet links. Administrators said they will provide clearer copies in follow-up communications to trustees who requested them.
No formal contract award occurred at the Oct. 27 meeting; the board received the proposals and asked for additional clarification and a January return for a full bid package approval.
