Trustees hear reports on fundraising, exhibit opening and statewide training resources

S1 also noted new library-logo merchandise is available through the Bonfire store linked on the library homepage.
Trustee (S4), the new IHLS liaison, encouraged trustees to attend Member Day (virtual, Feb. 19) and described resources on the Illinois Heartland Library System website, LibraryLearning.org and the iLEAD trustee training site (ileadtrustee.org). "There are interesting keynotes, free registration," Trustee (S4) said, and called out sessions on AI literacy and community advocacy for libraries.
Library staff (S2) reported on the Illinois Underground Railroad exhibit opening and a library open house the previous weekend, saying the events were well attended and that live music (a band called Freedom Coalition) was a welcome addition after the renovation.
Trustees were given links and basic instructions for registering for IHLS events and for creating authenticated accounts to access trustee-focused training modules. No formal board action was taken on these items; they were informational reports intended to connect trustees with resources and to share community programming outcomes.
