Murrysville council approves Tobin, Castiglione subdivisions and Act 537 amendments

Kearns said the site is across from Barrington High, will be served by a shared private driveway, sewer connections will tie into a Fair Oaks Drive manhole, and MAWC will provide water. He said an NPDES permit has been submitted and he expects approval within one to two weeks.
Council asked about lot sizes and sight distance for the proposed shared driveway. Kearns said the lots range from just over 2 acres to just under 3 acres and that driveway sight distance was examined early in design and meets PennDOT requirements for the roadway’s posted speed.
Council then voted on the Tobin subdivision (14a) inclusive of Planning Commission conditions; the motion passed unanimously. The council also approved Resolution No. 797‑25 (14b), amending the borough’s Act 537 plan for the Tobin Subdivision, and Resolution No. 798‑25 (14c), an Act 537 amendment for the Castiglione subdivision (SP‑7‑23), which the chief administrator described as an amendment to EDU allocations for a separate 54‑acre, 24‑lot single‑family development. Both resolutions passed unanimously.
