The commission awarded a $1.28 million wastewater pump-station improvements contract to Conhurst LLC and approved a $5.63 million Kentucky Infrastructure Authority loan for the Clarks Run Phase 2 sewer project, with part of the loan forgivable and an accompanying EDA grant.
Danville — The Danville City Commission on Feb. 9 accepted staff recommendations to award and finance major sewer projects aimed at repairing and upgrading pump stations and gravity sewer lines.
City staff reported the Perryville and Junction City wastewater improvements received two bids and recommended awarding the contract to Conhurst LLC as the low bidder. "Conhurst LLC was a low bid for the sum of $1,284,436," staff said, and commissioners voted to accept the recommendation. The project includes pump station replacements, safety-access work and electrical controls funded in part by county ARPA funds.
Separately, the commission approved acceptance of a Kentucky Infrastructure Authority loan offer for the Clarks Run Phase 2 sewer project. Staff described the loan as $5,626,195 over 20 years at a 0.5% interest rate, with $490,867 of the loan designated as forgivable and an expected EDA grant of $1,990,000 tied to the project. "This is a 20 year loan ... and then on top of that $490,867 of that loan is forgivable," staff said in explaining the amortized loan amount.
Commissioners approved both the construction award and loan acceptance by voice vote. Staff said the projects are intended to address capacity and aging infrastructure and that KIA loan terms are favorable for long-term financing.
