City liaison (speaking as Jen's liaison) told the Milton Equestrian Committee that Birmingham Park cleanup day is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28, starting at 8 a.m., with a rain date of March 14, and asked members to join a trail‑lead meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m. She asked members to share the event graphic across social channels and to bring tools and volunteers.
On the Meet the Neighbors event, staff said 12 vendor applications and six food trucks have applied; the application deadline is March 6 and the event date is April 18. The committee discussed parking‑contract quotes, face painters and live music (a husband‑and‑wife acoustic duo is tentatively hired). Members also explored pony‑ride vendors and noted the city’s insurance and equine liability requirements: vendors must supply a certificate of insurance meeting city limits and smaller companies may not be able to comply.
Members suggested practical additions such as QR codes for nominations and signups, staged activity stations (age‑segmented foot‑jump courses) and a vendor‑sharing post from the city communications account. Staff also noted that one parking quote had been selected and the communications manager would post city materials for members to share.
The committee did not make final procurement decisions at the meeting; staff will continue vendor outreach and provide updates at the next meeting.
