Bay Harbor Elementary principal invites Suamico trustees to Leadership Day

Tony Ebeling, principal of Bay Harbor Elementary School, spoke to the Suamico Village Board Feb. 17 to invite trustees to Bay Harbor Leadership Day, scheduled for May 8 from 9 to 11 a.m. He described the event as a student-led showcase of leadership work based on a children’s adaptation of Stephen Covey’s curriculum, with students leading announcements, giving tours and presenting portfolios during the event.
Ebeling said the school has expanded leadership lessons to younger grades and that last year the program welcomed community members and business partners. Trustees and other attendees described attending last year as valuable; one trustee said a student tour provides an "unfiltered" look at classroom practice. Ebeling noted the school will host Leader in Me representatives for an award review the following week and said the school could be the second in Wisconsin to receive the recognition.
No board action was required; the presentation was an informational invitation and trustees encouraged attendance.
