Suamico accepts $32,000 radio grant to upgrade fire-department communications

Administrator Kaker said the grant award was the result of an application supported by the village; staff credited in-house grant writer Ben Rogers and other contributors for pursuing the opportunity. "This is $32,000 that our equipment replacement reserve fund will not have to cover," staff said.
Trustee Romas moved to accept the funds; Trustee Andrews seconded. A roll-call vote recorded five ayes and the resolution carried 5-0.
Next steps: staff will accept the funds and proceed with procurement consistent with the grant and village purchasing rules; the purchase will offset planned equipment-replacement spending.
